2010年に伊達政宗「紫羅背板五色水玉模様陣羽織」に出逢い、その現代的意匠を作品のモチーフのひとつとしています。

In 2010 I came across the "FIve-Colored Polka Dot Battle Surcoat", worn in public by Masamune Date, and took that modern-looking design as one of the motifs of my work.

千年の震災「3.11」で改めて大地の畏怖と畏敬の念と恩恵に感謝し、深く痛んだ東北は健康的で丁寧に生きる美しい暮らしを願い、秋保渓谷の自然と文化に重ねて感謝し星空に祈ります。

Tohoku: a region of handicrafts, forged in an unforgiving natural landscape. After the once-in-a-thousand years disaster of 11th March 2011, with a spirit of awe and reverence toward the power of the Earth, I felt that I wanted to again express my gratitude to the blessings of this place.
Tohoku has been deeply wounded, but I pray to the starry heavens in giving thanks to the Akiu Valley, with its natural and cultural blessings, and the healthy and beautiful life it affords.
